A few weeks ago I got the opportunity to go near Brasov, Romania, to visit the bear sanctuary in Zarnesti.
I was a little skittish, I didn’t know exactly what to expect.
The sanctuary is on a beautiful secluded location, and is spread on the 69 hectares of oak forest.
The place is huge! There are 95 european brown bears that were saved from nightmarish conditions. Hearing their stories, and seeing them enjoying the new life is a pretty emotional experience.
If you’re even in the Brasov area of Romania, I strongly reccomend visiting this place. The entry fee helps the association take care of the bears and you get to see the actual bears enjoying life!
